| The Piltdown Man is
everything that a country pub should be and far far more, situated near
Uckfield it offers a warm and cosy atmosphere. A warm welcome is always
assured by the friendly family of staff. The informal atmosphere gives
it a home from home feeling. We welcome children - we truly are a family
pub!
A selection of cask ales is always on tap, and for hungry visitors the
menu (during kitchen hours), runs from light bites to home-cooked
classics such as steak, pies, fish & chips and roast dinners. The food
is excellent offering fresh, locally sourced ingredients and great value
for money. The Piltdown Man also has en suite bed & breakfast
facilities, for guests staying overnight.
For those Summer months our outside area offers a huge adventure
playground and bouncy castles, in the safety of its own pencil fence,
overlooked by our outdoor eating area so parents can supervise whilst
relaxing. There is no charge for the use of the park, available to
customers only.
In the middle of the Sussex countryside it can only be described as an
oasis in a desert.
